One Lucky Night

It started with me dropping off my grandma and my uncle In New Britain (it's a "We call the police town"). On my way back a friend calls me up and I naturally answer the phone. But starting October 1st 2005 it's illegal to be driving while talking on the phone in our state. Well, there was a cop behind me the whole time and he pulls me over. I go through the whole routine, with license and registration, then he goes back to his car, another cop car comes. He comes back and says, "Do you mind if I have a look around your car?"
I guess he found out I lived in a rich town and figured a white kid at night in on that road meant drug dealing or something. Now, being the smart ass that I am, I knew that I had nothing on me so I said yea sure thinking I could stick it to him when he found nothing. I got out of the car and he patted me down for his own protection and looked through my car. He found an empty bag with residue and shake in it that I didn't know I had. He shows it to me and I was like fuck, "Well you caught me" I figured I'd be nice about it and maybe I wouldn't get fucked. About a minute into the conversation 30 yards away some guy crashes his car into a pole. I look at the cop and he says, "Today's your lucky day get the fuck outta here." and I got in the car and didn't look back. Later that night I went to a kegger, was up 60 bucks in black jack and dice, the cops showed up, and while they were in the back talking to all the kids who were 21 I walked out the front door and headed home.
